Loaded Thanksgiving Sourdough Turkey Open Faced Sandwich with Cranberry Mayo dip

One of my greatest joys after Thanksgiving is experimenting with the leftover turkey to come up with the perfect sando. I think I might finally have it. If it isn’t, it is pretty close with this one. Not only is it an amazing sandwich, but it also completely embodies all that the Thanksgiving feast is – turkey, stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce, all on a bed of sourdough bread. The Beefer really pulled it all together into one warm, wonderful leftover delight.

Ingredients

  • Leftover sliced turkey from Thanksgiving
  • 4 slices each sourdough bread
  • ½ cup turkey gravy
  • 2 cups turkey stuffing
  • 8 slices white cheddar cheese (or whatever cheese you prefer)
  • ½ cup regular mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup cranberry sauce

STEP 1 - 2

  • Fire up the Beefer and set the dial to lowest heat.
  • Place the four slices of bread on a large cutting board, then add ½ cup of stuffing to coat each slice of bread:

STEP 3 - 4

  • Portion gravy evenly over each of the stuffing topped bread slices, then add turkey meat to each bread portion. 
  • Add two slices of cheddar cheese to each sandwich:

STEP 5

  • Place an open faced sandwich on a grill plate and set on the lowest rack slot. You will only have room for one open face sandwich per Beefer cycle:

  • Toast each sammy for 3 minutes, pull, and check the melt. Rotate the grill plate 180 degrees and slide back in for another 2 minutes, making sure use a turkey leg push the grill plate back in ☺:

Once the cheese is slightly browned, remove from the Beefer

STEP 7

  • While the sandwiches toast inside the Beefer, mix the mayo with the cranberry sauce in a small mixing bowl. Divide the sauce into four small dipping cups:

STEP 8

  • Remove the sandwiches from heat when the
    cheese browns:

  • After each sando is complete, dip into the cranberry mayo and enjoy:
